About Kathryn Cason
Kathryn Cason, Co-Founder and Chair

Co-founder and Chair of the Requisite Organization International Institute, 30-year research colleague of Elliott Jaques, co-authored Human Capability, A Study of Individual Potential and its Application, 1994 [Cason Hall]. Their research validated the constructs of a hierarchy of Orders of Complexity of Information and of the recursive four internal processes operating within the maturation of individuals to handle increasingly more complex problems. Of special note is the finding that managers, managers-once-removed, and individual subordinates can all agree on the level of work that the subordinate is capable of effectively handling, when provided clear constructs with which to articulate their judgments. This study set the foundation for Jaques' Life and Behavior of Living Organisms, 2002 [Praeger].

Ms. Cason has worked as advisor to senior management for over 35 years. Her organizational project work has spanned a broad spectrum of industries—transportation, engineering, energy generation, financial services, manufacturing and owner managed enterprises. In these projects she has tested their research findings of the last 50 years for general applicability and effectiveness; developed implementation tools and best practice methods for practitioners; trained and supervised other professionals in learning the concepts, principles and methodologies of Requisite Organization Total Management System and Stratified Systems Theory.

The International Journal of Applied Psychoanalysis, Canadian Management Accountants, National Association of Corporate Directors, Massachusetts High Tech Magazine, and Amacom have published her work, and she has been quoted in Business Week, LA Times, Boston Globe, CT Post and The New Yorker.

Among Ms Cason's lecture engagements are faculty, graduate and post-graduate classes of US Universities including George Washington, US Naval War College, University of Texas, and Academy of Management. International institutions represented by, University of Chile, University of Stockholm, Deakin University (Australia) and The Conference Board of Canada. She validates requisite organization research methodology and assessments for doctoral students and has participated on graduate committees at George Washington University and University of Texas.

Ms. Cason has a strong background in management, business development, and management education. She has held senior management positions in financial services and not-for-profit professional education/membership associations.
